INSULATE KERALA
Hard lessons from flooded fury
Learning lessons the hard way. That is what Kerala is doing now after the 2018 flood. Torrential rains. Flooding rivers. Overflowing dams. Perilous landslides. Cattle and beast dead and floating. Houses submerged. Lives lost. Economy crumbling. Hard lessons have been taught by water drops, coming down with fury.
Now, we are learning to survive; to LIVE BEYOND. Harnessing the range of water and wind, of human erroneous calculations and unscientific living habits, we are insulating Kerala; rather than learning to do so.
This collection of reflections are from the National Conference ‘UDDHAN’ and beyond. It is about how we can handle the fury of nature, to learn to live together with nature, how to prepare in case of further floods, and want to reserve for future generations.
‘Insulate Kerala’ is a dream, is a hope, and is also the reflection of untiring zest to live beyond the catastrophe.
